Chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS)manifests as a set of syndromes characterized by prolonged or recurrent fatigue, accompanied by physical and neuropsychiatric symptoms such as fatigue, muscle soreness, lymph node enlargement, lack of concentration, low mood, and sleep disorders, showing a widespread and younger onset trend.By summarizing the relevant literature on the treatment of CFS with traditional Chinese medicine external treatment methods in the past 5 years, the authors found that the therapies such as acupuncture, moxibustion, acupoint patch, massage, cupping, and comprehensive therapy have the advantages of simple operation, easy acceptance, and no dependence.Although traditional Chinese medicine external treatment has been widely applied in the treatment of CFS,there are still shortcomings such as limited clinical research, insufficient sample size, limited mechanism research, and a lack of objective indicators. This article reviews the clinical application research of traditional Chinese medicine external treatment for CFS,in order to provide ideas for future clinical application and experimental research.
