Optimization of Particle Size Range of Pinelliae Rhizoma Powder Based on Principal Component Analysis
Objective:To explore the influence of particle size of raw and processed products of Pinelliae Rhizoma of Araceae plants on the quality of Chinese herbal medicine granules and to optimize the best particle size process.Methods:Firstly,the content of multiple active ingredients(uridine,hypoxanthine,xanthine,uracil,and guanosine)in Chinese herbal medicine granules of different particle sizes of Pinelliae Rhizoma raw and processed products were detected.Then,principal component analysis was used to process the detection data,calculate the comprehensive evaluation index values of different granules,and build regression models to select the optimal particle size of different granules.Results:The optimal particle sizes obtained from the analysis were as follows:Pinelliae Rhizoma raw material powder passed through a No.6 pharmacopoeial sieve,commercially available processed products passed through a No.7 pharmacopoeial sieve,and self-made processed products passed through a No.9 pharmacopoeial sieve.Conclusion:This experimental method is reliable.Using particle size as a factor,combined with component content data based on principal component analysis can serve as a quality evaluation standard for TCM powder.
