Exploration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Pathogenesis and Treatment Approaches for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Based on the Theory of"Yang Transforming Qi and Yin Forming Matter"
Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)is a disorder commonly affecting women aged 18-35,characterized by endocrine and metabolic disturbances. It falls under the categories of"delayed menstruation,""metrorrhagia,"and"amenorrhea"in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).The theory of"yang transforming qi and yin forming matter"represents two processes of qi transformation, reflecting the physiological functions of yin and yang.By analyzing the yin-yang changes during the pathological process of PCOS,we can further clarify its basic pathogenesis. It is found that PCOS patients often exhibit insufficient yang transforming qi,with spleen and kidney deficiencies;excessive yin forming matter leads to the accumulation of phlegm and stasis, resulting in yin-yang disharmony.Clinical treatment should follow the principle of balancing yin and yang, regulating the spleen and warming the kidneys, soothing the liver, and harmonizing the root, aiming to achieve a state where yin and yang are balanced and harmonious.
