Effects of Six Gentlemen Decoction Combined with Jade Screen Powder on Immune Function in Patients with Stable Stage of Lung-Spleen Qi Deficiency Type Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective:To investigate the effects of Six Gentlemen Decoction combined with Jade Screen Powder on immune function in patients with the lung-spleen qi deficiency type stable stage of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:A total of 60 patients with lung-spleen qi deficiency type stable stage COPD who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 30 cases in each group,using a random number table.The control group received routine Western medicine basic treatment based on initial assessment,while the observation group was treated with Six Gentlemen Decoction combined with Jade Screen Powder on top of the control group's treatment.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.The changes in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,six-minute walk test(6MWT),modified British Medical Research Council(mMRC)dyspnea scale,immunoglobulins(IgA,IgG,IgM)levels,CD4+,CD8+levels,CD4+/CD8+ratio,as well as the clinical efficacy were compared before and after treatment.Results:The total clinical effective rate in the observation group was 93.33%(28/30),significantly higher than 73.33%(22/30)in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.01).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores in both groups were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.01),with the observation group showing better results than the control group(P<0.01).Compared with before treatment,the 6MWT,immunoglobulins(IgA,IgG,IgM)levels,CD4+level,and CD4+/CD8+ratio were significantly increased(P<0.01),while mMRC grade and CD8+level were significantly improved(P<0.01,P<0.05),with the observation group performing better than the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:Six Gentlemen Decoction combined with Jade Screen Powder can significantly improve the symptoms and immune function in patients with lung-spleen qi deficiency type stable stage COPD.
