Post-stroke cognitive impairment(PSCI)is a common complication after stroke.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment for PSCI has unique advantages,among which moxibustion not only has the effect of activating blood and resolving stasis,but also raising yang and replenishing qi.Moreover,it is simple to operate and has high acceptance.In recent years,moxibustion has achieved good efficacy in the treatment of cognitive impairment.This article reviews the literature on moxibustion therapy for PSCI in recent years,summarizes its etiology and pathogenesis,and discusses the current research status of moxibustion therapy for post-stroke cognitive impairment from the aspects of commonly used moxibustion methods and acupoints selection.The results show that the acupoints selected for moxibustion are mainly located on the governor vessel and head,and the moxibustion methods mainly include moxibustion with moxa sticks,moxa cones,and other special moxibustion techniques,all of which have significant therapeutic effects.
