Warm Acupuncture and Moxibustion for Treating Post-Stroke Sleep Disorders of Phlegm-Heat Disturbing the Heart Type
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of warm acupuncture and moxibustion in treating phlegm-heat disturbing the heart type post-stroke sleep disorders. Methods:A total of 72 patients with phlegm-heat disturbing the heart type post-stroke sleep disorders who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a study group and a control group, with 36 patients in each group, using a random number table. The control group received Shugan Jieyu Capsules, while the study group received the same plus warm acupuncture and moxibustion.Acupuncture points included Shenmen(HT7),Taixi(KI3),Neiguan(PC6),Zhuhai(KI6),Shenmai(BL62),Sishencong(EX-HN1),and Sympathetic points(EX-B2).Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. The Athens Insomnia Scale(AIS)was used to compare sleep quality before treatment and at 1 and 2 weeks after treatment. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)and the Scandinavian Stroke Scale(SSS)were used to compare neurological function before and 2 weeks after treatment.Adverse reactions such as dizziness, fatigue, and morning sleepiness,as well as clinical efficacy, were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the clinical total effective rate in the study group was 97.22%(35/36),which was higher than the control group's total effective rate of 83.33%(30/36)(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,AIS scores in both groups significantly decreased at 1 and 2 weeks after treatment(P<0.05).The AIS scores at the same time points were lower in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).Repeated measures showed statistically significant differences in the time-point effect, group effect, and interaction effect of AIS scores between the two groups(P<0.001).Compared with before treatment, both groups showed a decrease in NIHSS scores and an increase in SSS scores after treatment(P<0.05).The NIHSS scores were higher and the SSS scores were lower in the study group compared to the control group after treatment(P<0.001).Conclusion:Warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Shugan Jieyu Capsules show better clinical efficacy in treating phlegm-heat disturbing the heart type post-stroke sleep disorders. This approach can effectively improve neurological function and enhance sleep quality.
