Abstract

Richard Taruskin's book On Russian Music clears the haze that covered Russian music in the past,and redefines the historical development of Russian music from the 18th century to the 21st century.From the per-spective of deconstruction,natural historical context and"The Other"perspective,this paper explains and evalu-ates how Taruskin removed the label of Russian music,traced the source of the problem and re-examined the au-thentic music history writing of this history,and tries to sort out the similarities and differences between this work and post-modem musicology analysis methods.
