Effect of Austempering on Mechanical Properties of Dual Phase ADI
The mechanical properties of dual phase ADI (Austempered Ductile Iron) were tested under different isothermal quenching temperature and time. The results show that when the isothermal quenching temperature rises from 250 ℃ to 390 ℃, tensile strength of dual phase ADI reduces, elongation increases, and the hardness decreases at first, then increases. When the isothermal quenching time is between 30 min and 120 min, tensile strength of dual phase ADI increases first and then slightly decreases when the time is longer than 90 min; when the time is 60 min, the impact ductility reaches the peak value, then reduces gradually along with the time; the elongation increases at first then decreases and the hardness increases gradually.
