Spheroidization Rate and Shrinkage Characteristics Prediction of Ductile Cast Iron Based on Thermal Analysis Technology
In order to solve the problem of high rejection rate caused by casting defects such as shrinkage cavity, porosity and poor spheroidization and so on in the production of ductile cast iron,a study on the spheroidization rate and shrinkage characteristics prediction of ductile cast iron based on thermal analysis technology was carried out.Using a specific thermal analysis sample cup for molten iron sampling analysis, after pouring the target component molten iron,a multi-channel temperature acquisition system was applied to record the solidification temperature curve of the sample, and the characteristic temperatures of liquidus temperature TL,eutectic minimum temperature TEU and eutectic maximum temperature TER were calculated.Using these characteristic values as variables, the mathematical models for predicting shrinkage rate and spheroidization rate have been established through multiple linear regression method. After on-site experimental testing, the average prediction errors of the models for the shrinkage rate and spheroidization rate do not exceed 1%and 2%,respectively.
