Review of Studies on Seismic Performance of Ancient Wooden Buildings Considering Non Structural Members
Ancient wooden structure is the main part of the cultural relics in China, which takes wood as the main load-bearing com-ponent and has profound historical and cultural value.Based on previous studies we summarize the research progress of the ancient tim-ber structures seismic performance from three aspects of experimental research, numerical simulation and seismic performance evalu-ation methods. In this paper we mainly consider the influence of non structural components such as masonry infilled wall, wood parti-tion board and sparrow. We find that the non structural members can limit the tenoning of mortise tenon joints, improve the stress state of joints, improve the structural stiffness, strength and energy dissipation capacity, and reduce the collapse probability of the ancient wooden structure under earthquake. Finally, combined with the research status of wood structure ancient buildings in China and the dif-ferences with other countries, the future research direction of wood structure ancient buildings in China is given in the paper.
