The forward gas pressure stabilizing box is one of the main accessories of Dongfeng 11 diesel locomotive.Based on the structural characteristics and casting process of the forward air pressure stabilizing box casting,the defects such as sand holes,air holes,cold shuts,and shrinkage porosity that appeared during the production process were analyzed.Based on the causes of casting defects and combined with the actual situation of on-site operation,corresponding improvement measures were taken to effectively eliminate casting defects and ensure product quality.
