Promoting the integration of technology and finance is a crucial initiative to accelerate the transfor-mation of technological achievements and build an innovative nation.Based on panel data from prefecture-lev-el cities spanning from 2007 to 2021,using the"Promotion of the Integration of Technology and Finance Pi-lot"policy as a quasi-natural experiment,a dual difference model is employed to assess the impact of technol-ogy finance on the innovation-driving effect of cities.Empirical research reveals that:(1)The technology fi-nance policy significantly enhances the level of urban innovation;(2)The mechanism primarily operates through indirectly boosting urban innovation levels by influencing the level of informatization;(3)In terms of heterogeneity, the effects of the pilot policy are more pronounced in the eastern regions;regions with good credit in cities demonstrate markedly better innovation performance than those with poorer credit. This study provides important insights for further understanding the patterns of technological and financial innovation, contributing to enhancing the path of independent innovation.
