Undertaking basic public health services is a significant measure to enhance the self-health aware-ness of the Chinese people and achieve health equity.Based on the Stochastic Frontier Analysis(SFA)mod-el,kernel density estimation, and Markov chain models, this study selects panel data from 31 provinces(au-tonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, excluding Hong Kong,Macao, and Taiwan regions)in China from 2016 to 2020.It analyzes the efficiency of China's overall and regional basic public health services and their influencing factors, and characterizes the spatiotemporal evolution characteris-tics during the examination period. The results show that from 2016 to 2020,China's service efficiency was significantly influenced by various factors, showing an overall upward trend but with a relatively low efficiency level, with average annual efficiencies of:0.48,0.5,0.54,0.43,0.51;there are significant differences in service efficiency between regions in China, and the efficiency among provinces is unbalanced;based on this, the Matthew effect of China's service efficiency is quite evident. Therefore,to improve service efficiency,it is necessary to focus on rational resource allocation as the core, and achieve an increase in service efficiency through targeted system construction;focus on regional coordination, and improve service quality by adjusting the distribution of regional inputs;and take the improvement of resource integration as the cornerstone to build a path for coordinated development of equity and efficiency.
