Hot forging process is the most widely used forging process.Compared with conventional forging,hot forg-ing is more conducive to lattice reorganization and recrystallization within the structure.Otherwise,hot forging can better refine the internal grains of the structure,reduce porosity and improve comprehensive properties.In this paper,the research progress of hot forging process of powder metal alloys and composites at present was systematically sum-marized.The classification of powder metals and composites prepared by hot forging process was introduced.The re-search status of simulation technology of materials under hot forging process was analyzed.Finally,the following re-search direction and future prospect of the existing hot forging process were put forward.
