Analysis of Quantifier Scope in Chinese Passive Sentences by"Generalized Skolem Terms Theory"
In this paper, the scope interaction between quantized nouns and phrases in Chinese passive sentences is analyzed within the framework of combinatory categorial grammar incorporating generalized skolem terms theory, and the scope ambiguity of Chinese quantized passive sentences is essentially lexical ambiguity.Firstly, this paper divides Chinese quantified passive sentences into two subcategories:Chinese quantified long passive sentences and Chinese quantified short passive sentences. Then,in the framework of"CCG+generalized skolem terms theory",the quantifier scope phenomenon of all kinds of quantized passive sen-tences is explained. In quantified long passive sentences, this paper analyzes the scope interaction between quantifiers in bounded quantified long passive sentences and unbounded quantified long passive sentences. In quantized short passive sentences, this paper mainly discusses the scope interaction between quantized nouns and phrases in bounded quantized short passive sentences and unbounded quantized short passive sentences. The results show that quantifier scope ambiguity exists in Chinese quantized passive sentences.
