The paper industry is a traditional and superior industry in China,as well as an important industry for earning foreign exchange.However,pragmatic mistakes often lead to trade frictions and economic losses in foreign trade.Interpersonal interpretation,with its interactivity and coordination,has great potential in resolving pragmatic differences and promoting smooth trade.Based on the presentation of pragmatic failure in the foreign trade of the papermaking industry,this paper analyzes its causes from the perspectives of language,culture,and trade environment.This paper focuses on the unique role of interpersonal interpreting in language understanding and trade communication,and proposes countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the effectiveness of interpersonal interpretation in the foreign trade of the paper industry.This is approached from the perspectives of interpreter competence training,workflow optimization,and multi-party collaborative quality control.
