Study on land settlement and pipeline stress response characteristics in land reclamation area
The land reclamation area in coastal areas is prone to uneven settlement, and laying pipelines on soft soil foundations is prone to stress concentration and accidents. This paper established a three-dimensional settlement model based on the finite element method for Tianjin Nangang Industrial Park. The interaction mechanism between pipes and soil was characterized using the solid mechanics e-quation and the Mohr-Coulomb criterion. The land settlement situation and the stress response characteristics of new pipeline during in-stallation and production were analyzed. The results showed that the degree of uneven settlement in the artificial reclamation area was significantly correlated with the fill material properties and the uneven natural mud surface of the marine sediment layer. After the new pipeline was put into operation, the stress at the top and bottom of the constructed pipeline decreased by about 2 MPa,but the equivalent force on the adjacent side increased by about 4.5 MPa.The stress on the adjacent side of the pipeline of parallel laid pipes was greater than that of other locations. The results of the study are beneficial to identify the settlement trend in the study area and provide a scien-tific basis for the development of stress monitoring programs for soft ground pipelines.
