Preparation and performance study of efficient consolidating dust suppressants for mine production
In order to reduce the coal dust caused by the mining and transportation process in the coal mine into the air and avoid its harm to the underground production environment and the health of workers, three surfactants, including sodium dodecyl sulfonate(SDS),disodium cocoamphodiacetate(CAD)and fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether 7(AEO-7),were selected, and CAD and AEO-7 with excellent performance were screened out by surface tension experiment. At the same time, environmentally friendly degradable bind-ers methylcellulose(MC),sodium carboxymethyl starch(CMS-Na)and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)were selected to screen out(MC)with good adhesion performance based on viscosity experiment. On this basis, the orthogonal test method with hardness and penetration depth as the evaluation index was used to analyze and obtain the optimal formula of dust suppressant as 0.06%CAD+0.10%AEO-7+0.20%MC.Based on the evaluation of the wetting, water retention, and solidification performance of the obtained optimal formula dust suppres-sant,the contact angle test showed that the contact angle between the dust suppressant and coal dust was 36.5°,indicating good wetting ability. The cumulative evaporation within 8 hours is 4 g and the hardness of the solidified layer formed can reach 76.4 HA.After being disturbed by a 10 m/s airflow, the wind erosion rate of the coal sample is 2.23%.Combined with scanning electron microscopy to ana-lyze the micromorphology of coal dust particles after spraying dust suppressant at 1 000 times magnification,it was found that the parti-cle size of coal dust can reach about 60 μm,and effective agglomeration behavior was carried out,and the particle size test also proved that the dust suppressant had an effective wetting and agglomeration behavior on coal dust, increasing the gravity and density of coal dust and significantly improving the dust suppression effect.
