Exploring geochemical characteristics of hydrocarbon source rocks in Banqiao Depression using aromatic hydrocarbon marker compounds
Based on the characteristics of aromatic hydrocarbons in the hydrocarbon source rocks of Banqiao Depression,a study was conducted on the hydrocarbon source rocks of Shahejie Formation in Banqiao Depression using oil and gas organic geochemistry theory and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)analysis technology. The results show that the aromatic components of the hydro-carbon source rocks in the lower and third sections of the Shahejie Formation in the Banqiao Depression are dominated by phenanthrene and naphthalene series compounds;there is a high proportion of input from higher plant sources of organic matter;there are significant differences in sedimentary environment and maturity between the two sets of main hydrocarbon source rocks. The lower section of the Shahejie Formation is a saltwater sediment, and the maturity of the hydrocarbon source rocks is in the low-mature stage. The third sec-tion of the Shahejie Formation is a freshwater sediment, and there is local salinization phenomenon in the Tanggu area. The maturity of the hydrocarbon source rocks is in the mature-high mature stage. The parameters of the phenanthrene series compounds,MDR,and triar-yl sterone index(C2820S/(20S+20R)-TAS)are not suitable for evaluating the maturity of the hydrocarbon source rocks in the study area. The above results provide reference for the exploration and development of the Shahejie Formation in the Banqiao Depression.
