Simulation analysis of sealing performance of end spring packer rubber cylinder
As a newly designed downhole sealing tool, the end spring type packer rubber cylinder was simulated and analyzed to verify whether the tool could meet the sealing design requirements of 40 MPa under different environmental confining pressures and sitting and sealing loads on the sealing performance of the rubber cylinder. The simulation analysis adopted the theory of finite element analysis,de-termined the simulation parameters of spring and rubber by physical experiments, and used the axisymmetric analysis method to calcu-late the simplified equivalent finite element model. The analysis results showed that under the range of 10-50 MPa environmental confi-ning pressure loads, the sealing pressure change of the middle rubber cylinder was only 0.27 MPa,and the impact of environmental con-fining pressure load on the sealing performance of the rubber cylinder was very small.Through analysis and calculation of four different sitting and sealing loads, the relationship curves between the sealing load and the sealing pressure was obtained, and the conclusion that the sitting and sealing load can meet the design requirements of 40 MPa under the condition of more than 8 t was obtained, providing theoretical support basis for the subsequent field test construction and structure optimization.
