Development and application of thermal simulation experiment technology for hydrocarbon generation in source rocks
The simulation experiment of hydrocarbon generation from source rocks is an important means to simulate the evolution and hydrocarbon generation of organic matter during geological history in the laboratory, which is of great value for analyzing the hydrocarbon generation mode and estimating resource reserves of oil and gas basins.Three experimental systems for hydrocarbon generation thermal simulation experiments at the current stage were mainly introduced, including open system, closed system, and semi-closed system. The advantages and disadvantages as well as the main applications of the three systems were comprehensively compared, the key points of the current development of hydrocarbon generation simulation experiments were discussed, and the development trends were looked forward to,aiming to provide theoretical basis and references for oil and gas exploration research.
