AIGC Empowering Smart Library Services Based on the Theory of Technology Affordances
The AIGC represents a typical application of major breakthroughs in AI technology in the era of digital intelligence.The essential characteristics and affordances of AIGC are studied and analyzed to deepen users'understanding and provide refer-ence for smart libraries to enhance their level of service.This paper first discusses the technology affordances of AIGC technol-ogy for smart libraries,focusing on content resource affordances,space resource affordances,human resource affordances,and professional service affordances.It then examines the technology affordances of AIGC technology for users from four as-pects:perceptual affordances,cognitive affordances,emotional affordances,and social affordances.Despite some risks as-sociated with using AIGC technology in library-related fields,smart libraries can significantly improve their level of service with its help.Therefore,it is important for libraries to thoroughly study and embrace AIGC technology while also mitigating its risks.
