The Spatial Distribution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Characteristic Towns Along the Jiangsu Canal
As an important venue for high-quality economic development in the cultural belt of the Jiangsu Grand Canal,the characteristic towns along the canal play an important role in inheriting and revitalizing the cultural heritage along the Jiangsu section of the Grand Canal.This article selects 215 national and provincial-level characteristic towns in Jiangsu Province as re-search samples,and uses methods such as nearest neighbor index,geographic concentration index,and kernel density to ex-plore their geographical spatial differentiation.It explores the differential effects of factors such as population economy,trans-portation location,and resource ecology on the industrial distribution of towns along the transportation route.The results show that the industrial types of coastal towns in Jiangsu Province are rich,and their spatial distribution shows a clustering trend.The suburban direction is more obvious,showing a multi center cluster distribution characteristic;There are significant differ-ences in the spatial distribution and regional characteristics of different types of towns,with the highest degree of agglomeration in the new generation of information technology towns.The focus on modern agriculture,tourism,and health and elderly care towns is not obvious.Population characteristics,economic foundation,resource endowment,location and transportation,ec-ological environment,and land use are the main influencing factors on the spatial distribution of characteristic towns in Jiang-su.
