Treatment of Carrageenan Industrial Wastewater by Coagulating Sedimentation+A/O+Fenton Reaction Methods
To address the challenges associated with treating carrageenan wastewater using the AO(anaero-bic+aerobic)process,this study employed coagulant sedimentation to effectively remove saline-rich mixed solutions.Subsequently,an anaerobic and aerobic biochemical treatment process, combined with a Fenton reac-tion,was utilized to decompose organic matter. After one year of operation, the results indicated that the final effluent pH ranged from 6 to 9,with a chroma of 15 to 20 degrees. The CODcr concentration was measured at 55 to 68 mg/L,demonstrating that the effluent quality met the first-level emission standards outlined in the People's Republic of China Comprehensive Sewage Discharge Standard(GB8978-1996).These findings sug-gest that the proposed treatment process is highly effective for carrageenan wastewater, providing valuable insights for carrageenan production enterprises.
