Welcome to another issue of SPIP. It is encouraging to see the growth of interest and engagement in process and in improvement. Both areas have become part of mainstream research and practitioner focus as expressed by the volume of articles and papers dedicated to these issues. Software processes and process improvement are no longer fringe activities that take place in isolation as is evidenced by the attention they receive in many major conferences and in the majority of software engineering, information systems and even systems engineering textbooks.
