In Turkey, conservatism has turned into a collective identity that has been adopted and internalized by a wide swath of the population. A new popular culture was created concerning the family, women's roles, and consumption habits, and in this way, a common consensus was developed for acceptable embodiments of conservatism. This study examines the new form of conservatism in Turkey from the perspectives of the family, womanhood, the female body, and motherhood through acceptable norms regarding conservatism, the body, and the family axis. It is an interesting coincidence that Emin Alper 's "Kiz Kardesler" ("A Tale of Three Sisters ") and Semih Kaplanoglu 's "Baglilik Asli" ("Commitment") examine the same subjects from different perspectives. While Kiz Kardesler explores life going from the countryside to the city and at women s lives in the city, Baglilik Ash looks at people s lives going from the city to those living in the countryside. These two films selected within the scope of the study are important in terms of providing examples for the methods of constructing the daily lifestyle with respect to conservative thinking. The two films highlight the polarization in Turkey between conservative and non-conservative people over how to regard different everyday life experiences. In this context, this study uses discourse analysis methods to analyze Kiz Kardesler and Baglilik Ash in order to generate ideas about conservative trends in everyday life strategies in Turkey in recent years.
