According to news reportingoriginating from Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “Enzymaticsynthesis of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) catalyzed by an NADH-dependent 7 beta-hydroxysteroiddehydrogenase (7 beta-HSDH) is more economic compared with an NADPH-dependent 7 beta-HSDH whenconsidering the much higher cost of NADP(+)/NADPH than that of NAD(+)/NADH. However, the poorcatalytic performance of NADH-dependent 7 beta-HSDH significantly limits its practical applications.”
