By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning DailyNews Daily News – Fresh data on Robotics - Robotics and Automation are presented in a new report.According to news reporting out of Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, by NewsRx editors, researchstated, “Local geometric information, i.e., normal and distribution of points, is crucial for LiDAR-basedsimultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) because it provides constraints for data association, whichfurther determines the direction of optimization and ultimately affects the accuracy of localization. How-ever, estimating normal and distribution of points are time-consuming tasks even with the assistance ofkdtree or volumetric maps.”
