News editors obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Auto dealerships today may typically post photos of vehicles online for sale, rent, or other leasingarrangements. When potential buyers, renters, or lessors (collectively referred to as “users”) are viewinginventory of these vehicles online, it may be difficult for the users to identify existing damages on or withinthe vehicles. If the user undertakes the burden to physically drive to the location of the vehicle with theintent of the buying, renting, or leasing the vehicle, seeing existing damage (often for the first time) onthe vehicle may create a negative experience for the user. There is thus a desire for a reliable means foridentifying and presenting existing damage of vehicles. Systems and methods are presented to overcomeone or more of the shortcomings presented above.”
