The assignee for this patent, patent number 11868908, is Groq Inc. (Mountain View, California, UnitedStates).Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Machine learning model applications are being used in a large number of applications that require fast,e.g., real time, processing time for the output of the machine learning model. Furthermore, in many ofthese applications, the machine learning model may be configured within an embedded device with strictpower maximums and/or other constraints. However, current means of implementing machine learningmodels neither guarantee time nor power constraints. For example, graphics processing units are commonlyused to execute machine learning models. However, if used in an embedded system, such as within a car forself-driving applications, such a GPU may not necessarily return results within the specified time constraintsneeded for the real-time operation of the system, and furthermore may occasionally or often generate peakpower draws that exceed the platform capabilities of the vehicle and which may also exceed the temperaturedissipation capabilities of the device. Hence, an improved system for execution of machine learning modelsis desired.”
