Abstract

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News-A patent application by the inventors Chao, Chi Mou (Hsinchu County, Tw); Tseng, Min-chih (Hsinchu County, Tw), filed on July 24, 2023, was made available online on March 14, 2024, according to news reporting originating from Washington, D.C., by NewsRx correspondents. This patent application has not been assigned to a company or institution. The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: "The existing sweeping robots usually clean the floor with a dry-cleaning mode, or with a wet-cleaning mode through help of wate r or cleaning liquid to clean the floor after the mop or the surface to be clean ed is wetted. However, in this way, dirt, dust, hair or fine debris tends to acc umulate on the mop. Therefore, after a period of operation with the dry-cleaning or wet-cleaning mode, it is necessary to replace or wash the soiled mop to main tain the cleaning performance in the subsequent mopping operations. The current sweeping robot can automatically clean the floor, but it cannot automatically cl ean the mop. That would require cleaning or replacing the mop manually, but such requirement seriously compromises the intended effect of automatic sweeping of the sweeping robot without human intervention. Therefore, it is necessary to des ign a new sweeping robot to resolve the above-mentioned deficiencies."
