By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News-New research on artificial intelligenc e is the subject of a new report. According to news originating from Milan, Ital y, by NewsRx editors, the research stated, "Artificial intelligence (AI) is a ra pidly developing technology that has the potential to create previously unimagin able chances for our societies." Financial supporters for this research include European Association of Social Ps ychology. The news editors obtained a quote from the research from University of Milano Bi cocca: "Still, the public's opinion of AI remains mixed. Since AI has been integ rated into many facets of daily life, it is critical to understand how people pe rceive these systems. The present work investigated the perceived social risk an d social value of AI. In a preliminary study, AI's social risk and social value were first operationalized and explored by adopting a correlational approach. Re sults highlighted that perceived social value and social risk represent two sign ificant and antagonistic dimensions driving the perception of AI: the higher the perceived risk, the lower the social value attributed to AI. The main study con sidered pretested AI applications in different domains to develop a classificati on of AI applications based on perceived social risk and social value."
