The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: “When using battery-operated electric vehicles, it is necessary to charge the batteries accommodated in the electric vehicle, wh ich are provided to supply the electric drive of the electric vehicle. “In conventional electric vehicles, charging of the battery is achieved in that the electric vehicle is parked at a charging column or a wall box and then the u ser establishes a connection between the charging column or the wall box and the electric vehicle by manually plugging in a corresponding charge plug. The actua l charging process can then be started.
