Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Order delivery systems dispatch pickers to travel to warehous es (e.g., retail stores, fulfilment centers, dark stores, and the like) to pick customer’s orders and deliver them to customers. Some order delivery systems may provide ultrafast delivery services to customers where deliveries of orders to customers in a particular geographic region (e.g., a given metropolitan area) is guaranteed within a predetermined time period (e.g., 15-minute delivery, 30-min ute delivery, 2-hour delivery, and the like). In order to provide the ultrafast delivery services with high customer satisfaction, it is imperative for the orde r delivery system to setup warehouse locations throughout the geographic region where the ultrafast delivery service is being offered, so that an order from any customer in any part of the geographic region can be fulfilled by a picker from a nearby warehouse location and delivered to the customer within the predetermi ned time period. However, setting up each new warehouse location involves signif icant capital expenditures, and requires continuous operational and maintenance costs.”
