According to news reporting originating from M emorial University of Newfoundland by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “C oastal wetlands encompass diverse ecosystems such as tidal marshes, mangroves, a nd seagrasses, which harbor substantial amounts of carbon (C) within their veget ation and soils. Despite their relatively small global extent, these wetlands ex hibit carbon sequestration rates on par with those observed in terrestrial fores ts.”
