Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “ “Field “The present disclosure relates to a functional safety system of a robot, and mo re particularly, to a sensor duplexing apparatus and method of a mobile robot wh ich duplex a module to satisfy a performance level d (pl-d) required by robot fu nctional safety. “Description of the Related Art “In order to ensure a safety of the robot, the duplexing of the module at a perf ormance level (pl) related to the functional safety is being demanded. The duple x system can be simply implemented using a LiDAR sensor certified for the perfor mance level d (pl-d). However, the LiDAR sensor certified for the performance le vel d (pl-d) is expensive so that there is a problem in that it takes a lot of m oney to implement the duplex system. Further, only a function provided by a manu facturer that manufactures the corresponding LiDAR sensor can be used so that it is difficult to flexibly implement a function.”
