According to news originating from Corpus Christi, Texas, by NewsRx corr espondents, research stated, “This letter addresses the distributed informative path planning (IPP) problem for a mobile robot network to optimally explore a sp atial field. Each robot is able to gather noisy environmental measurements while navigating the environment and build its own model of a spatial phenomenon usin g the Gaussian process and local data.” Financial support for this research came from National Science Foundation (NSF).
