This calibration may be carried out on the basis of a mathematical model. Starting from a generalized model, the param eters of the model are adapted to individual sensors during the calibration proc ess. For this purpose, the sensors adopt particular measuring points and the mod els are adapted via matching algorithms as a function of the measured values. If the sensors are installed, for example, soldered, in users, altered ratios may then occur and the original calibration is potentially no longer optimal. A user may now recalibrate the sensor. This recalibration is complex, however and pote ntially requires knowledge about the exact functioning of the sensor and of its calibration, which is not available to the user.
