By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News-Data detailed on Machine Learning - Co mputational Intelligence have been presented. According to news reporting origin ating from Chengdu,People's Republic of China,by NewsRx correspondents, resear ch stated,"Cloud-edge technology enables near-real-time optimization of product ion lines in group-distributed manufacturing systems. Offloading some tasks to t he cloud and processing the remaining tasks on the edge side can improve efficie ncy of the production optimization." Financial support for this research came from National Key Research and Developm ent Plan. Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from Southwest Jiaotong Univ ersity,"However, due to the complexity of the manufacturing environment and var ious constraints,an effective offloading strategy is crucial to reduce computin g delays and minimize transmission requirements for large-scale optimization req uirements. This paper proposes a mixed-integer programming model and a deep rein forcement learning (DRL) framework, based on a Transformer,to address the cloud -edge offloading problem. The DRL framework consists of an encoder and decoder, designed using Transformer. Task offloading decisions are translated into two op tions: cloud offloading or edge retention. The encoder extracts relevant feature s for each option, and the decoder generates the probability of selecting each o ption based on the encoded information."
