Abstract

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News-Current study results on artificial in telligence have been published. According to news originating from Vasteras, Swe den, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "Artificial intelligence (AI) ha s made remarkable strides, giving rise to the development of large language mode ls such as ChatGPT." The news editors obtained a quote from the research from Malardalen University: "The chatbot has garnered significant attention from academia, industry, and the general public, marking the beginning of a new era in AI applications. This wor k explores how well ChatGPT can write source code. To this end, we performed a s eries of experiments to assess the extent to which ChatGPT is capable of solving general programming problems. Our objective is to assess ChatGPT's capabilities in two different programming languages, namely C++ and Java, by providing it wi th a set of programming problem, encompassing various types and difficulty level s. We focus on evaluating ChatGPT's performance in terms of code correctness, ru n-time efficiency, and memory usage. The experimental results show that, while C hatGPT is good at solving easy and medium programming problems written in C++ an d Java, it encounters some difficulties with more complicated tasks in the two l anguages." According to the news editors, the research concluded: "Compared to code written by humans, the one generated by ChatGPT is of lower quality, with respect to ru ntime and memory usage."
