This type of device has been used for a number of years and has been ofsignificant impor tance in the automation of manufacturing parts and assemblies. As a matter of fa ct,a fastener feeder can be used by an automatic screwdriver (robot) in an auto mated process, the robotregistering the location to which it may revert to when it requires to pick-up a new fastener to performits operations. Fastener feede rs are generally used by fully automated robotic arms but they may also beused by human operators. Fastener feeders may be used to facilitate the overall screw driving operationsby providing fasteners at a given location with a constant or ientation.
