After which, the shipment is moved intothe s hipper’s transit network, where the shipper must identify one or more vehicles t hat can transport theshipment to another location within the transit network th at is nearer the destination. Allocating shipments to vehicles within the networ k can be difficult because shipments from various senders have different sizes,shapes, and weights, and accurate information about the shipments is oftentimes unavailable, whether dueto miscalculations by the sender or simply a lack of sh ipment information being provided.
