For example, accuratelycontrolling the vehicle balances pr ecision with computational resources. That is, as a general matter, amobile pla tform, such as a vehicle, may have limited computational resources due to limita tions on a size ofa computing device that can be included within the vehicle, a vailable power, and so on. Moreover, higherprecision in computations generally may rely on higher resolution sensor inputs (i.e., higher resolutionimages) and /or additional computational resources, such as more processor time/bandwidth. A s anadditional consideration, different environments can be more complex to und erstand and navigate. Thus,in the context of an automated vehicle, a complex en vironment may mean that computations should befaster and more precise in order to adequately navigate the complexities. However, allocating resourcesfor inter preting a complex scenario may mean that other processes are under-allocated and thus may notfunction optimally. Moreover, in less complex scenarios, implement ing more intensive processing routinesmay waste energy and computational resour ces in general. Thus, difficulties with effectively allocatingresources can aff ect the ability of such systems to perform optimally.”
