According to news reporting originating in Durham, North Carolin a, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “In the rapidly developingfield of n anophotonics, machine learning (ML) methods facilitate the multi-parameter optim ization processesand serve as a valuable technique in tackling inverse design c hallenges by predicting nanostructuredesigns that satisfy specific optical prop erty criteria. However, while considerable efforts have been devotedto applying ML for designing the overall spectral response of photonic nanostructures, ofte n withoutelucidating the underlying physical mechanisms, physics-based models r emain largely unexplored.”
