However,patients are becoming more concerned with overuse and/or misuse of expensive advanced medical imaging,such as computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography(PET), that e xpose patients to scheduling delays, additional costs, and unnecessary radiation exposure.Therefore, alternative imaging techniques, such as ultrasound, may be increasingly used for diagnostic andintervention imaging associated with muscu loskeletal disorders.
