For example, therandom and unsorted contents of a collection truck may be unloaded at the facility onto a conveyor belt.Although sorting per sonnel may be stationed to manually sort materials as it is transported on the b elt,the use of sorting personnel is limiting because they can vary in their spe ed, accuracy, and efficiency andcan suffer from fatigue over the period of a sh ift. Human sorters also require specific working conditions,compensation, and b elt speeds. Production time is lost to training the many new employees that ente ras sorters, and operation costs increase as injuries and accidents occur.”
