No assignee for this patent application has been made.News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors:“A bearing includes an inner ring with an inner raceway sur face formed on its outer peripheral surface, anouter ring with an outer raceway surface formed on its inner peripheral surface, and a plurality of rollingelem ents positioned between the inner raceway surface and the outer raceway surface. One such bearingis called a cross roller bearing. The inner and outer raceway surfaces of a cross roller bearing are shapedlike a V-groove, and the inner and outer raceway surfaces form a rectangular raceway as viewed from thecircumfere ntial direction. The rolling elements of a cross roller bearing are so-called cy lindrical rollers.The cylindrical rollers are arranged so that their inclinatio n angles alternate in the circumferential direction.
