From the background information supplied by the inventors, news correspondents o btained the followingquote: “BACKGROUND ART“An adapter for detachably connecting a surgical instrument to a robot arm of a robotic surgical systemhas been known (see, e.g., U.S. Pat. No. 8,142,447).“U.S. Pat. No. 8,142,447 discloses an adapter including a latch by which the ada pter is detachablyfixed to an attachment portion of a robot arm, and an input s ection which transmits a driving force ofthe robot arm to the surgical instrume nt. The adapter is fixed to the robot arm by deforming the latchand hooking the latch on the attachment portion of the robot arm.”
