Abstract

Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Typically, scheduling health appointments are performed manua lly on a patient-by-patient basis. Forexample, a patient visits a physician, an d the physician schedules the next appointment based on theassessment of the pa tient’s health condition at the time of the appointment. However, the patient’shealth condition may change frequently between visits, e.g., the deteriorating h ealth condition of thepatient may require an earlier visit to the physician or an improved health condition of the patient maylead to cancellation or postpone ment of the scheduled appointment to accommodate patients requiringurgent medic al attention. However, service providers are technologically challenged to provi de a servicethat monitors, in real-time, the health conditions of the patients, and automatically reschedules healthappointments based on the changing health conditions of the patients.
