Abstract
Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Under-display cameras (UDCs) are being used in various mobile electronic devices and other electronicdevices, such as smartphones and tablet computers. An under-display camera refers to a camera positionedunderneath a d isplay of an electronic device. Often times, an under-display camera can be used as aforward-facing camera to capture still or video images of a user of an ele ctronic device. This approachhelps to obscure the camera and reduce or eliminat e the need to include circular, pill-shaped, notched, orother cutouts in a disp lay. Due to optical diffraction and noise generated by having a display in front ofa camera lens, image restoration is performed in order to improve the qualit y of images captured by anunder-display camera.”
